Overview

As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will lead a skilled crew responsible for keeping critical heavy equipment and automated systems operating at their best. You will foster a safe, efficient and innovative workshop environment while supporting a 24/7 operation. This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact through leadership, continuous improvement and hands‑on technical expertise.


Key Accountabilities

* Lead and support the maintenance team, fostering a positive, collaborative and high‑performing work environment.
* Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements, identifying hazards and encouraging safe work practices.
* Plan, coordinate and complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities efficiently, safely and to a high standard.
* Manage labour, contractors, tools and materials effectively to meet operational needs while controlling costs.
* Monitor equipment performance and implement initiatives to improve reliability, reduce downtime and enhance overall maintenance processes.
* Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of all maintenance activities in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support informed decision‑making.
* Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised and compliant with all procedures and safety requirements.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external contractors to ensure smooth and effective maintenance operations.


Qualifications, Skills & Experience

* Tertiary engineering qualification or an advanced trade qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline.
* Minimum five years' experience in maintenance management, ideally within heavy equipment workshops or automated machinery environments.
* Proven leadership experience in large, complex operations, including working within unionised environments.
* Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation, risk management processes and safe work practices.
* High level of technical knowledge across heavy plant and equipment, along with strong computer literacy and experience using maintenance management systems.
* Excellent communication, problem‑solving and stakeholder relationship‑building skills, with the ability to make sound operational decisions and drive continuous improvement.
