The Invergowrie Foundation is seeking up to four new Board Directors to join our mission-driven team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic leadership of a charitable trust dedicated to improving educational outcomes for girls and young women, with a particular focus on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
About The Invergowrie Foundation
Established in 1992, the Foundation has a proud legacy of supporting impactful programs through invitation-only, multi-year grants. Our partners include leading universities and educational organisations across Victoria. Since 2015, our strategic focus has been on STEM education, with initiatives such as:
* The Monash Virtual School
* STEMeez and the Virtual STEM Hub
* The GALS program (Deakin University)
* Girls in Physics Breakfasts (Vicphysics)
* A PhD scholarship (University of Melbourne)
* Professional learning for teachers (Swinburne University)
* Industry Day for maths educators (AMSI)
We work with ~35 member schools, including both independent and government girls' schools, and distribute $1.0–$1.4 million annually.
The Role
We are recruiting up to four Directors to:
* Support Board succession and renewal
* Broaden skills, perspectives, and lived experience
* Contribute to future leadership, including potential Chair succession
The Board meets quarterly and operates with a single Investment and Finance Committee. Directors are not involved in day-to-day operations but play a critical role in governance, strategy, and oversight.
Who We're Looking For
We welcome expressions of interest from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Investment and finance (especially with committee experience)
* Legal and governance
* Philanthropy, fundraising, stakeholder engagement and brand
* Education leadership, particularly beyond principal roles (e.g. system leaders, STEM experts)
* Government school sector representation (strongly preferred for at least one appointment)

Time Commitment
* Quarterly Board meetings
