About the Role
As the Head of Department - Vocational Education and Training, you will lead the ongoing development and implementation of programs, systems, and processes related to Vocational Education and Pathways for all students at the College. This role specifically focuses on the outcomes and progress of students in Years 9 and 10, with the aim of maintaining positive engagement with learning and future pathways.
The successful applicant will have the opportunity to develop tailored learning programs for young learners, maximising opportunities for work experience, apprenticeships, and traineeships where appropriate. This will involve leveraging partnerships established through the work of the Industry Liaison Officer.
The role also involves close collaboration with the Heads of Department - Transitions and Pathways for Senior Schooling and Junior Secondary, to ensure a seamless transition for all students from their commencement in Year 7, through the middle years, and into their senior years of education.

As the Head of Department - Vocational Education and Training, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Lead the school department to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
Set high standards for student and staff performance.
