The role of Occupational Hygiene and Hazardous Materials Consultant is a critical position within our team. As a key member, you will play a pivotal part in protecting workers' health and providing guidance to clients to ensure compliance with health, safety, and legislative requirements.
Your primary focus will be on conducting comprehensive occupational health risk assessments for various hazards, including silica, noise, chemical exposures, vibration, lead, asbestos, biological hazards, and indoor air quality. You will also use cutting-edge equipment and methods to monitor workers for exposure to these hazards.
Responsibilities include designing effective strategies for hazard remediation and prevention management, undertaking technical supervision, inspections, and monitoring during site remediation works, and assessing health risks with support from senior technical specialists and Certified Occupational Hygienists (COH).
Collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams will be essential, working closely with WSP internal teams such as acoustics, contaminated land, engineering, and property risk. Producing technical reports to a high standard, including technical peer review of reports, is also a critical aspect of this role.
