* We are seeking a dedicated healthcare professional to join our team as a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine.
About the Role
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to provide expert services in the field of geriatric medicine. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, managing patients in acute or sub-acute beds within public hospitals, and working across multiple hospitals within the Hunter New England Local Health District.
Key Responsibilities:
* Geriatric Medicine Consultations: In public hospital settings.
* In-Patient Management: Managing patients in acute or sub-acute beds within public hospitals.
* Hospital Collaboration: Working across multiple hospitals within the Hunter New England Local Health District, including John Hunter Hospital, Belmont District Hospital, and Maitland Hospital.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong clinical skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.
Requirements:
* Qualifications: Hold a primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (Geriatric Medicine).
* Experience: Demonstrate recent clinical experience at the consultant level in Geriatric Medicine.
* Teamwork: Exhibit the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership.
* Patient Care: Ensure appropriate arrangements for patients on discharge from hospital to maximize continuity of care and promote positive health outcomes.
