Backed by experienced operators and significant private equity investment, the Australian business is now embarking on an ambitious growth journey, scaling from an initial footprint in Sydney to a targeted national network of ~100 locations over the next decade. This represents a rare opportunity to join at the ground floor of a high-growth, internationally backed business as it builds out its Australian operations. As the first finance hire in the market, you will play a critical role in establishing the finance function locally, transitioning from an outsourced model to an in-house capability, and building the processes, systems, and reporting frameworks required to support rapid expansion. The Role This is a high-ownership, hands-on role suited to a commercially minded accountant who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Reporting directly to the Senior Leadership Team, you will take full ownership of the day-to-day finance function in Australia, whilst acting as a key business partner to both corporate leadership and operational stakeholders across the store network. You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, improving visibility across store performance, and building scalable processes to support a multi-site, high-growth business. Key responsibilities will include: Ownership of month-end close, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and management reporting End-to-end accounts payable and payment processing across a growing store network Payroll processing across multiple locations, including superannuation and statutory obligations Delivery of store-level performance reporting (sales, labour, food cost) and variance analysis Supporting decision-making for new site openings and operational improvements Maintaining fixed asset registers and supporting year-end financial statement preparation Driving process improvement, automation, and the adoption of technology and AI tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy This role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to shape how finance operates in Australia as the business scales. About You You are a hands-on, proactive finance professional who enjoys operating in a build environment and taking ownership of outcomes. You are equally comfortable rolling up your sleeves on transactional activities as you are stepping back to improve processes and provide commercial insight. You will bring: CA or CPA qualification Experience working within a fast-paced, multi-entity or multi-site environment (retail, QSR or consumer-facing industries highly regarded) Strong experience across month-end close, reconciliations, and management reporting Exposure to payroll processing, including superannuation and payroll tax Experience with cloud-based accounting systems (QuickBooks Online advantageous) A strong systems mindset, with a genuine interest in leveraging technology and AI to drive efficiencies The ability to operate autonomously, manage competing priorities, and partner effectively with non-finance stakeholders Why Join Wingstop?
