genU is looking for caring and energetic Domestic Service Assistants to provide essential in-home support to older community members, including household cleaning, meal preparation, and general assistance to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment. This role offers structured weekday shifts and the opportunity to contribute to meaningful outcomes within a values-driven not-for-profit organisation.
We're currently hiring across East Metro Melbourne in suburbs such as Rowville, Wheelers Hill, Croydon, Glen Waverley, Balwyn, Belgrave, Forest Hill and Mulgrave.
What you'll do
As a Domestic Service Assistant, you'll help people feel comfortable and supported in their own homes by providing:
* Light household cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
* Friendly support and companionship to brighten their day
What you'll bring
A caring, patient and people-focused approach
Reliability, well organised and able to work independently
Strong communication skills. Someone who enjoys building rapport
* You'll also need an NDIS Worker Screening Check, Orientation Module Certificate and Working with Children Check – but don't worry, we'll help guide you through this.
* Current First Aid and CPR certification
* Current driver's licence, reliable registered vehicle with comprehensive insurance, and a mobile phone
* Basic computer skills for required admin tasks
* Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support or Community Services
* Experience supporting people who are ageing, living with disability, or experiencing mental illness, including those with specific health needs (e.g. Dementia, Diabetes, Epilepsy) and from diverse cultural backgrounds (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culturally and linguistically diverse groups)
