Role description
Off the back of major project wins and a growing pipeline of work, Arcadis is seeking a Principal Engineer experienced in power distributions design along with project management experience to join our team. Utilise your experience in NSW utility standards and road authority standards to act and bolster the existing team’s capabilities.
Role accountabilities
* Experience with Ausgrid, Endeavour and Essential Energy.
* Managing electrical packages from scope stage to final certification.
* Effective liaison with power utilities and clients at every stage of the design.
* Coordinating with various project disciplines and stakeholders.
* Leading electrical design packages including electrical relocation, sub-divisions and supply upgrade projects for major clients.
* Reviewing and verifying ASP Level 3 related drawings and construction schedules to NSW utility standards.
* Reviewing and verifying environmental factor reports.
* Attend and participate in client meetings; and assist project managers with coordination of deliverables.
* Providing leadership, guidance and assistance of various project’s and design deliverables.
* Preparing reports, proposals and presentations for internal and external clients.
* Support the team members with design queries and make decisions regarding the design including guiding & mentoring of graduate engineers.
* Engaging in weekly project update meetings.
Qualifications & Experience
* 15+ years relevant experience as a level 3 designer (ASP3).
* Relevant higher education qualification in electrical engineering.
* Extensive experience in Utility electrical designs such as overhead & underground networks, earthing, asset relocations, supply upgrades, sub-divisions & public lighting.
* Experience in preparing technical reports & design documentation.
* Detailed knowledge of electrical distribution design and relevant Australian standards.
* Working knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to private electrical designs/writing rules and lighting (AS3000).
* Ability to check, comment and approve distribution drawings for construction purposes.
* Project management skills including construction support and construction management.
* Excellent spoken and written communication skills including a working knowledge of MS Office.
