About the Role
A leading strategist will join the Regulatory Economics Unit (REU) within the Economic Group.
The role involves delivering expert economic advice and analysis on regulatory matters.
Responsibilities
Lead the work of the REU, ensuring complex advice is delivered in an accessible format for non-technical stakeholders.
Drive the change-management program within the Economic Group to improve the use of economic analysis.
Build productive professional relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Manage, mentor and advise Principal and Senior Economists to promote high-quality outputs.
Ensure systems and frameworks apply rigorous, consistent economic principles in ACCC and AER decision-making.
Engage senior internal and external stakeholders to enhance understanding of economic analysis in regulatory considerations.
Represent the ACCC nationally and internationally in industry and government engagement.
Lead a professional team, model leadership behaviours, coach, provide continuous feedback, resolve conflict, and support career development.
About You
Advanced economic credentials to discuss complex concepts and their regulatory application.
Experience leading economic teams and staff management.
Post-graduate qualifications in economics.
In-depth knowledge of economic concepts relevant to ACCC regulatory functions.
Strong grasp of contemporary cross-jurisdictional and international regulatory economic issues.
More than seven years of experience leading advice on ACCC regulatory economic functions (or comparable regimes).
Substantial practical experience applying micro- or financial economics to economic regulation.

Salary & Terms
EL2 $143,411 – $168,064 + 15.4% superannuation.
