Role Overview
Research Fellow in Human‐Robot Interaction (Full Time, Fixed Term 48 months) – Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, School of Computing and Information Systems. Salary: A.5 - $106,273 per annum plus 17% superannuation.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct independent research in human‐robot interaction, delivering high‐quality experimental outcomes and peer‐reviewed publications.
* Develop and manage research plans, timelines, and documentation, ensuring accurate records of experiments and analyses.
* Contribute to teaching, supervision, and mentoring through lectures, tutorials, laboratory activities, and student research projects.
* Collaborate with internal and external partners to strengthen the School's human‐robot/AI interaction research profile and outputs.
* Participate in seminars, committees, outreach, support funding bids and disseminate research outcomes.
Qualifications
* PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, Human‐Robot Interaction, Human‐AI Interaction or a closely related discipline.
* Strong publication record in leading HRI, robotics, or human‐computer interaction conferences and journals.
* Demonstrated ability to perform independent, innovative research while collaborating within interdisciplinary teams.
* Advanced analytical and problem‐solving skills with meticulous and reproducible research records.
* Excellent communication of complex research concepts to technical and non‐technical audiences.
* Effective time and priority management with minimal supervision, engagement with students, colleagues, and external collaborators.
