**The Role**
The Information and Records Management Officer is accountable for the management of records in the Defence Corporate Records Management system.
The role is responsible for the management of Defence records through all stages of the records lifecycle within the Navy Aviation Systems Program Office (NASPO). The position will ensure all data held is accurate and stored in accordance with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
The position engages and communicates with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on information and records management issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. The position coordinates to the work of the Business Management team, ensuring records are complete, reliable and accurate.
**About our Team**
Working in the Navy Aviation Systems Program Office (NASPO), you will be a key team member within the Business Management Unit (BMU). This team delivers consistently high standards of outputs for Fleet Air Arm and Navy Aviation, Aircrew Training and Commons Branch. Each role within this team contributes to supporting the delivery of capability for Navy.
- Contribute to the communication and enforcement of explicit business rules and protocols.
- Monitor and ensure ease of access to information systems and encourage knowledge transfer throughout Defence in accordance with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.
- Manage and maintain repositories within the Defence records information management structure,
- Engage with stakeholders to understand their expectations and concerns to meet business objectives and ensure Defence records management compliance.
- Work collaboratively and operate as an effective team member.
- Analyse lessons learned and identify opportunities for continuous improvement for the work area.
