Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager Business Excellence is a pivotal Executive Leadership Team role‐charged with actively shaping how the City of Melbourne operates, performs, and evolves.
This role is responsible for driving strategic transformation, financial sustainability, and operational excellence across the organisation. You will oversee a complex and high‐impact portfolio spanning finance, enterprise technology, procurement, and planning, ensuring aligned strategies, robust governance, and data‐led decision making.
With oversight of a significant and complex portfolio‐including ~$124M in expenditure, ~$321M in revenue and substantial asset holdings, this role sits at the centre of how the City delivers for its community, now and into the future.

We are seeking a strategic and commercially astute leader with:
* A proven track record of leading enterprise transformation and lifting organisational performance in complex environments similar in size and complexity of a capital city council
* Deep financial leadership expertise, with the ability to shape long‐term strategy, governance and sustainability (CA/CPA Essential)
* Strong commercial acumen, including experience identifying and executing on growth and investment opportunities
* Experience leading digital, technology and business improvement initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes
