The Royal Hobart Hospital seeks a highly motivated and team-oriented Clinical Nurse Consultant - McGrath Cancer Care Nurse to provide leadership and support for patients diagnosed with Genitourinary Cancer in Southern Tasmania.Cancer and Blood Services (CaBS) at RHH is a comprehensive service dedicated to cancer and blood disorder patients, including the statewide bone marrow transplant service. Hobart offers an enviable lifestyle with short commutes, access to beaches, parks, great food, and wine.The Role:The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) – McGrath Cancer Care Nurse (Genitourinary):Provides leadership in developing and enhancing specialist services for patients with Genitourinary cancer, promoting evidence-based practice aligned with clinical guidelines and the McGrath Model of Care.Acts as a clinical expert in genitourinary cancer, serving as a resource for patients, families, and staff across the Department of Health and Hospitals South.Possesses expert knowledge of genitourinary cancer, including health assessment, treatment pathways, referrals, and ongoing care coordination.You will need:Post-registration experience as a registered nurse, with at least 3 years recent full-time experience and a total of 5 years in Oncology, Palliative Care, or Genitourinary Cancer, demonstrating the ability to assess, plan, and manage complex cases at an advanced level.Understanding of the physical and psychological needs of patients with genitourinary cancer and knowledge of common treatment regimens.Proven ability to implement change and develop clinical practice using evidence-based research and best practices.Note: Refer to the Statement of Duties for all selection criteria to address in your application.Details of appointment:Fixed-term, part-time position, up to 32 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP until 30 June 2027. Hours are negotiable with the successful applicant. The selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies for 12 months from publication.Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum (Pro rata), plus 11.5% superannuation.
