We are seeking a skilled and reliable Big Forklift Driver / Trades Assistant to join our carrot packing operations in Don, Tasmania.
During the carrot season (Jan-June), you will be responsible for operating our big forklift, and managing the flow of carrots into the factory. You will work closely with the shift supervisor to ensure production runs smoothly and efficiently.
In the off-season (Jul-Dec), you will take on the role of Trades Assistant in the carrot factory, supporting maintenance activities and assisting with projects as required.
Key Responsibilities
* Operate the big forklift to load and unload carrot skips safely and efficiently.
* Monitor product flow, ensuring a steady supply to the production floor.
* Communicate effectively with the shift supervisor regarding operational needs or issues.
* Assist the maintenance team as a Trades Assistant in the off-season, supporting repairs, servicing, and project work.
About You
* Current forklift licence with proven experience operating large forklifts.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Willingness and ability to work in a Trades Assistant capacity during the off-season.
* Experience in agricultural or food production environments (desirable but not essential).
