Business Services Lead - 12 month Fixed Term Contract (January **** Start)
Are you an experienced and compassionate HR professional with a passion for making a difference in the lives of people in aged care and disability services? STAR Community Services is seeking
a Business Services Lead with a focus on Human Resources
to join our dedicated and supportive team. The Business Services Lead plays a pivotal role in providing advanced business, human resource and administrative support to the Business Services Manager. This is a position of trust that requires emotional intelligence, excellent judgement, high levels of personal integrity and discretion. The position holder is instrumental in fostering a cohesive team environment and ensuring overall operational efficiency with the team for day-to-day human resources functions, administrative operations, and providing guidance on HR and compliance matters.
STAR supports the elderly and people with disability to live independently, engage with the wider community and achieve their goals. With the generous support of local community volunteers, we offer a wide range of
aged care and disability support services
to ensure that the vulnerable members of our community can access affordable and reliable services such as Home Care Packages, transport, in-home help, social activities, companionship and more.
Key Responsibilities (not limited to)
Prepare accurate and timely HR documentation – contracts, contract amendments and position descriptions, ER related documentations.
Participating in ER-related inquiries and investigations and contributing to the resolution of workplace grievances.
Maintaining awareness of changes in Labour laws and regulations, ensuring the organization's adherence to legal requirements & employee entitlements.
Maintain and / or develop HR policies, systems and processes, work instructions.
Lead HR processes including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding procedures.
Assist finance coordinator with fortnightly payroll.
Ensure compliance with HR policies, employment laws, and regulatory requirements; provide guidance and support to managers and employees on related matters.
Provide advanced administrative support to the Business Services Manager, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and document preparation.
Capacity to lead, motivate and develop staff to achieve results.
Foster a positive and inclusive team culture through effective communication, collaboration, and recognition of team achievements.
Manage workers compensation claims, incident reporting, and return-to-work programs and processes.
Manage external contractor and stakeholder contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
What will you bring to the role?
Qualification in Human Resources (or related field)
Previous end-to-end recruitment experience and/or previous HR experience
Previous contract generation for both Human Resources and external contractors
Familiarity with HRIS or HR database
Proficient with MS Office Suite
Integrity, including upholding strong professional and ethical standards such as confidentiality.
Ability to successfully implement and sustain a practical and defined solution to work processes.
Ability to work collaboratively to deliver a focused outcome for an internal or external client.
Ability to identify and allocate the most critical work.
Ability to continually identify and drive new opportunities or enhancements to current approach.
