Spinalis Pty Ltd is seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Medical Receptionist to join our busy team in our Terrey Hills, NSW practice. In this full-time position (4 days x 10 hrs), you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and efficiently managing the administrative tasks that are vital to the smooth operation of our Orthopaedic Spine Surgery Practice. The Medical Receptionist will work within a close team of other medical staff, including the Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon, the Practice Manager, our Clinical Research Associate and administrative staff from other Practices.
What you will do...
* Greet and welcome patients, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for
* Front office accounts including private patient invoicing, direct billing with Medicare, iCare and the Department of Veterans Affairs
* Ensure patient and practice confidentiality is respected and upheld
* Liaise with Specialists, GP’s, Hospital Staff and other Health Professionals
* Arrange surgical operating lists with Hospitals, other Medical Staff and Medical Device Organisations
* Type and disseminate medical correspondence via Healthlink
* Order office supplies and maintain equipment
* Schedule and coordinate patient appointments based on urgency, ensuring efficient patient flow
* Manage phone calls, emails and correspondence in a professional and timely manner
* Accurately input and maintain patient records and information in our database
* Handle billing, quoting, insurance claims and other financial duties
* Maintain a tidy and organised office
* Provide general administrative support to the medical team as required
* Type documents and patient correspondence with a high level of speed and accuracy at a minimum of 50+ WPM
* Administrative duties as directed by the Practice Manager and Surgeon
What we're looking for...
* Minimum of one years' experience as a Medical Receptionist or similar customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with patients in a warm and professional manner
* Ability to follow instructions and our processes
* Impeccable personal presentation
* Dedication and discipline when performing work duties
* Honesty and integrity
* Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a busy environment
* Proficient in using medical practice management software and Microsoft Office suite
* Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare-related administrative procedures
* A genuine interest in providing high-quality patient care and supporting the medical team
* Australian citizenship is required for this position
