About the Role:

The Youth Development Coach - Foyer Warrnambool plays a key role in coaching and developing young people to build on their strengths and achieve their goals of independent living, education, and employment. Using an Advantaged Thinking approach, this role focuses on nurturing talent, building capabilities, and fostering a strong sense of purpose and belonging.

Working collaboratively within the Foyer Warrnambool team and alongside external partners, the Youth Development Coach ensures each young person has a network of support and opportunities to thrive. As an ambassador for the Foyer model and Brophy Family and Youth Services, you'll champion young people's potential and contribute to a future-focused, strengths-based program that creates lasting impact.

This ongoing part-time position (0.8 EFT) offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by championing the talents and aspirations of young people.

A full list of key duties is outlined in the Position Description, but includes responsibilities in:

* Work with students to help identify education and employment goals, and to develop Learning Plans throughout the joint delivery of the Certificate I in Developing Independence and beyond.
* Assess students’ skills, capabilities and non-vocational barriers
* Adhere to the Foyer Warrnambool Practice Guide and support the development and delivery of living skills and learning programs for students.
* Address students’ support needs as they arise and manage Foyer dynamics.

Do your skills include:

* Demonstrated knowledge and experience of youth engagement, particularly from an Advantaged Thinking and trauma informed perspective, and demonstrated youth work experience.
* An in-depth knowledge about the causes and consequences of youth homelessness, and the kinds of strategies that are successful in empowering young people follow pathways to independent living and educational / employment opportunities.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of appropriate legislation relevant to the role, and the ability to adhere to policy and procedures.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to demonstrate experience in liaising with a diverse range of young people and stakeholders.

Are your credentials:

* A minimum qualification of a sector recognised and accredited Bachelor of Social Work or Diploma in Community Welfare Work or equivalent. (Qualifications must be approved by recognised professional bodies: ie. AASW, Community Services Council, APS etc.)
* A current Drivers Licence.
