Join our dynamic and supportive Operational team as Family Care (Casual), helping keep families close when it matters most. We are recruiting for 2-3 new casuals in our team.

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) VIC & TAS provides essential care and support for families of seriously ill or injured children. Our mission is simple but powerful: to keep Families close to the medical care their child needs, and close to each other. For more than 35 years, we've been a place of comfort and community for thousands of Families – and it's our people who bring this mission to life every day.
About the role
As part of the Family Care team, you'll be the first point of contact for Families staying in our Houses. You'll ensure each Family feels welcomed, supported and safe during their stay – from check-in to departure.
You'll contribute to:
* Creating a homely, supportive environment for Families under stress.
* Delivering operational and quality standards excellence - including cleaning, preparing rooms, and managing guest services.
* Ensuring smooth daily operations through admin and general house coordination.
* Engaging with volunteers and supporting them onsite with task management
* Contributing to after-hours and overnight shift coverage as part of a rotating roster.
This is a hands-on, people-first role requiring empathy, initiative and a calm, positive approach to unexpected situations.
Who are you?
You are compassionate, organised, and love being part of a team that makes a difference. You're confident working independently and thrive in a dynamic, people-focused environment.
You bring:
* Experience in customer service, hospital admin, or community care
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills – you're a natural at making people feel at ease
* Confidence in managing solo shifts and responding to needs as they arise
* Administrative ability – comfortable with Microsoft Office, data entry, and learning new systems
* A calm, respectful and supportive approach to everyone you meet
And you have:
* A current Working with Children Check and Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
* Full COVID-19 vaccination status (aligned with hospital partner requirements)
* Flexibility to work overnight, weekend and public holiday shifts across multiple sites
