Generalist Solicitor – Community Legal Centre – Wollongong Region, NSW
Full-time 35 hours per week | $102,245 – $106,877 (dep on exp) + salary packaging + 5 weeks annual leave

Our client is a highly regarded community legal centre committed to promoting social justice and access to the law for people experiencing financial hardship, language barriers, or other forms of disadvantage. Their team of dedicated professionals provides free legal services, community education and advocacy to support individuals and strengthen the local community.
About the Role
The Generalist Solicitor will deliver legal advice, casework, and community legal education to clients across the Wollongong region. Working across a range of practice areas including employment, discrimination, victims’ support and generalist matters. The role focuses on supporting clients facing social and economic disadvantage. This position is primarily based in Wollongong, with travel to outreach locations and occasional evening work for advice sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality legal advice and casework across a range of generalist legal matters.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver holistic and client-focused legal services.
- Plan and deliver community legal education activities.
- Contribute to law reform and policy work arising from case trends.
- Maintain accurate records and meet compliance and reporting requirements.
About You
- Eligible (or immediately able) to hold a NSW practising certificate.
- Preferred experience providing legal services to clients experiencing disadvantage – if not directly, let’s chat about your transferable skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts clearly.
- Robust attention to detail, organisation, and time management skills.
- Collaborative, ethical, and committed to access to justice.
