About the role
We are seeking a talented Short Order Cook to join our team at Jim's Cafe at the Wounded Heroes Veteran Centre in Hyde Park, Townsville. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of delicious meals and beverages for our customers in a fast-paced environment. With your passion for food and customer service, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional dining and food experience.
What you'll be doing
* Preparing and cooking a range of made-to-order hot and cold meals and snacks
* Operating the espresso machine to create high-quality coffee drinks
* Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen and service area
* Providing friendly and efficient customer service
* Ensuring compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations
* Collaborating with the Cafe Manager and wider team to deliver a seamless customer experience
What we're looking for
* Previous experience as a short order cook or barista, preferably in a fast-paced hospitality environment
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and an understanding of coffee brewing
* Excellent customer service skills and a passion for providing a high-quality dining experience
* Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure in a fast-paced environment
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
* Qualifications in food safety and barista training would be highly regarded
