Hays Construction North Queensland are proud to partner with an established local government in Cairns who are currently seeking an enthusiastic Project Supervisor to join their team on a short-term temporary contract. Your new role
As Project Supervisor - Operations, you'll lead the charge on multiple construction and maintenance projects across the region. From scoping and scheduling to contractor management and compliance, you'll be the operational backbone of the Building Services Unit. You'll ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys occasional travel, and is passionate about community-driven infrastructure. You'll be mentoring teams, engaging with stakeholders, and driving continuous improvement across all facets of project delivery.
What you'll need to succeed
To hit the ground running, you'll bring:
* A relevant qualification in Construction, Project Coordination/Management, or Business or equivalent experience.
* Proven success managing multiple construction projects with strong budget oversight.
* Deep knowledge of procurement, contract administration, and WHS compliance.
* Exceptional leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
* A collaborative mindset and cultural sensitivity
* Willingness to travel frequently across the Torres Strait and to Cairns
