About the Role
Join our Performance Music Program as an Instrumental Music Teacher – Drumkit Specialist at Sheldon College. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality percussion instruction to students across a wide range of age groups and skill levels, nurturing their passion for music and helping them develop their drumkit and Drumline abilities.
This role involves teaching both group and private lessons from Year 1 to Year 12, leading Drumline rehearsals and contributing to the broader ensemble program as required.
You'll create a respectful and inclusive learning environment, inspiring students to discover the joy of playing through dynamic, engaging and collaborative teaching methods.
This is a Casual, Term-Time position, approximately 10 hours per week, commencing 2026.

About you
* You will be an enthusiastic, skilled percussion educator with:
* Strong capability teaching drumkit, including to AMEB Grade 8 Rock School standard
* Experience directing Drumline rehearsals and performances at both beginner and advanced levels
* A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music or Music Education
* Experience teaching a broad range of ages and skill levels in group and private lesson formats
* Proven ability to prepare students for performances, recitals and ensemble participation
* Excellent organisational and time-management skills
* Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a broader team
* A commitment to fostering a respectful, safe and inclusive learning environment
* Ability to obtain and hold a QLD Blue Card or QCT Registration
* Desirable:
* Experience working within a school-based instrumental music or ensemble program
* Understanding of appropriate repertoire to support engaging and holistic learning
