Mona, Tasmania's Museum of Old and New Art, is looking for people to join our gallery team. We have casual opportunities available for the summer season.
Our gallery team operates with structure and processes to ensure exceptional visitor experiences and the safety of you, the team and our collection. You'll work in a work environment that supports you to learn and grow as part of an ever-evolving organisation.

The role:
* A strong focus on supporting and enhancing the visitor experience.
* Actively engage with visitors in a friendly and proactive manner.
* Serve as a valuable source of information and assistance in a very unusual environment.
* Provide information through 'The O' and facilitate interactive artworks within the museum collection.
* Effectively receive and report visitor feedback
* Minimum 15 hours per week
Skills, experience and requirements:
* Customer service experience
* Demonstrated interest in and/or knowledge of art.
* Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
* Possess a positive and friendly attitude.
* Availability to work from Thursdays to Mondays.
* Physically capable of standing for extended periods, often on paved or concrete surfaces.
* Resilience to work in environments with flashing or strobing lights, low light conditions, and loud repetitive noises.

The Mona site is a unique environment and we want to ensure you understand what the role involves. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a group interview to walk through the gallery, have scenario-based discussions followed by a brief individual interview with questions that we will provide in advance. We plan to hold these interviews in late September.
Training for successful candidates will commence in November 2025
