Job Description:
In this role, you will be responsible for the Supervision of the Line Maintenance Operation for Turboprop aircraft at Cairns Airport. You will actively manage the resolution of aircraft defects and ensure work plans are implemented and monitored against performance targets.
You will act as the primary point of contact between Operations, Port Coordination and Line Maintenance and the Duty Stores-person and Line Maintenance Operations. You will maintain contact with the Leading hand LAME and/or Mechanical and Avionics LAME on duty while ensuring effective communication with the Production Planner to ensure manpower availability.
This is a Full-time opportunity located in Cairns.
* A strong background in Turboprop aircraft maintenance with operational requirements and technical complexity understanding.
* Proven knowledge and application of CASA regulations including CARs, CAOs, and QantasLink Maintenance Control Manual.
* A sound understanding of workplace health and safety (OHS) requirements with a demonstrated commitment to safety-first operations.
* Well-developed planning and coordination skills with ability to manage resources effectively in a dynamic maintenance environment.
* A minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity with a track record of building trust, driving performance, and fostering team cohesion.
* At least 5 years' experience as a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME), ideally with hands-on exposure to Dash 8 – Q300/ Q400 or similar aircraft types.
* Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with ability to inspire, mentor, and support team members across shifts and priorities.
