Key Responsibilities
* Design high-performance mixed signal hardware for advanced navigation systems
* Develop analogue signal chain processing circuits and digital signal circuits including high-speed interfaces
* Create PCB schematic designs and layouts using industry-standard tools
* Simulate and optimise circuits in SPICE-based software
* Collaborate with embedded software team to ensure seamless integration of hardware and software components
* Identify and mitigate risks through regular progress updates and risk assessment
* Document design work, specifications, compliance matrices, design calculations and analysis reports
* Lead design reviews, test readiness reviews and production readiness reviews
* Peer review others' work to ensure accuracy and quality
* Apply sound engineering methodologies for Design for Manufacturing and Assembly
* Work closely with manufacturing and support teams to deliver and maintain hardware equipment and systems
* Develop assembly, repair and test techniques as well as sourcing alternates to obsolete parts and materials
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Bachelor degree or higher in electrical/electronic engineering and/or mechatronics
* Significant experience in designing and developing complex electronics with focus on precision analogue data acquisition, processing, and high speed digital circuits
* Proficiency in industry-standard tools such as Altium Designer and SPICE
* Proven track record of releasing multiple high-volume products to market
* Able to translate high-level discussions into detailed personal work plans and report progress to leadership
* Strong knowledge of industry-standard design engineering principles and practices
* Self-motivated and proactive approach with a history of initiative, personal responsibility and ownership of work
* Excellent time management skills with a high standard of attention to detail
* Strong understanding of WHS practices
