Wagtail Psychology is a warm, values-driven private practice committed to delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed care to our local community.
With strong referral pathways, trusted relationships with local GPs, and a growing demand for high-quality mental health services, we are seeking an experienced Psychologist to join our practice as an independent contractor.
This is an ideal role for someone who values autonomy, flexibility, and meaningful clinical work—while still having the support of reception, scheduling, and a steady stream of referrals.
About the Role
Contractor position on a ***** split (inclusive of super)
2–5 days per week, with flexible scheduling
Work autonomously within a solo-practitioner practice model
Strong referral base, particularly for trauma presentations, complex mental health, and general presentations
Admin support provided, including reception, scheduling, intake coordination, and billing
Opportunity to contribute to community mental health initiatives, workshops, and Wagtail Psychology's wellbeing programs

About You
Hold AHPRA General Registration as a Psychologist
Hold General, Registrar, or Endorsed psychology registration
Are registered (or eligible) as a Medicare Provider
Have demonstrated experience with trauma, including work with victims of crime, or complex presentations
Have a minimum of 1-2 years of demonstrated trauma experience
Are confident working autonomously in a solo practitioner environment
Maintain high professional standards aligned with APS, AHPRA, and trauma-informed frameworks
Are warm, collaborative, and client-centred
Bring excellent communication skills and clinical judgment
Enjoy flexibility, independence, and shaping your own clinical load
