The Opportunities Assistant Directors within People Branch are responsible for delivering high-quality HR advice and initiatives that directly support ACIC's operational effectiveness. You will play a critical role in ensuring ACIC has a capable, high-performing and resilient workforce to meet agency challenges. You will lead teams, manage projects and provide expert advice that influences ACIC's workforce plan and organisational culture.

People Branch is seeking motivated and experienced HR professionals to join our dynamic teams, across the below sections:

* Workforce Strategy
* People Services and Safety
* Workplace Relations and Learning
* Intelligence Training

We have vacancies now, but we are also building a talent pipeline to fill vacancies as they arise over the next 18 months. Candidates are encouraged to outline their skills, experience and capabilities in relation to specific or multiple functions.

Role responsibilities

As an Assistant Director in People Branch, you will:

* be a trusted adviser to senior executives on complex workforce issues including, but not limited to, performance, workplace relations and safety.
* interpret and provide accurate specialist advice and support to line managers and employees on HR policies and procedures
* lead the development and delivery of HR initiatives that strengthen the agency's resilience and readiness
* build and sustain relationships across the agency and with external stakeholders to deliver workforce solutions
* mentor and develop staff, contributing to the future leadership capability
* contribute to a positive workplace culture, embedding ACIC and APS values

Your skills and capabilities

We invite applications from people with the following experience, skills and attributes:

* Outstanding leadership skills and an ability to build and maintain professional relationships and collaborate across teams to achieve results
* Ability to lead projects and change in a proactive, positive and dynamic way to resolve challenging HR issues
* Experience in identifying issues, developing solutions and providing quality HR advice, service and strategy
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging according to target audiences including Senior Executives
* Sense of curiosity and an ability to think laterally and problem solve, while managing risk.

Eligibility

* Citizenship – To be eligible for employment with the ACIC, applicants must be an Australian citizen.
* Security Clearance - The Australian community expects ACIC employees to maintain the highest levels of security and integrity. Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 security clearance.
* Pre-Employment Screening – All candidates must satisfy an Organisational Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to being offered employment at the ACIC.
