About the Position

We are looking to welcome a Family Support Practitioner to our Townsville Intensive Family Support team. This frontline role manages cases and delivers tailored interventions to address family needs and child protection concerns. Through these duties, you will directly contribute to the wellbeing of children and families.

* Level 4 SCHCADS Award.
* Salary range: $88,100 - $94,792 + Superannuation.
* Full-time, Government funded position until 31 December 2026 with possible extension.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver an outreach model of complex‑case management programs to families in their home environment.
* Maintain a caseload of families and provide tailored evidence‑informed case management interventions.
* Engage with families, obtain their consent, and collaboratively develop a case plan to address unmet needs and child protection concerns.
* Facilitate social learning, community connectedness, good health, and well‑being for vulnerable families.

About You

* Hold a relevant tertiary qualification with professional registration (if required) and, a membership in a professional association (desirable).
* Demonstrate at least two (2) years' experience providing case‑management and therapeutic services to families, caregivers, young people and children in a child protection framework.
* Display a high level of cultural awareness and communication skills to facilitate effective work with families from different socio‑economic and cultural backgrounds.
* Possess high levels of IT skills (electronic database entry and Microsoft applications), time management skills, and an ability to work as part of a team.

Other Requirements

* Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
* Current driver's licence.
* Legal ability to work in Australia (proof of eligibility required).
