Supporting the CEO, the Executive Manager plays a critical role in moving the CEO's and Board's agenda forward. This includes providing strategic advice, ensuring seamless coordination across the organisation, and overseeing delivery of high-quality written outputs, governance processes, and stakeholder engagement. The position has responsibility for managing the CEO's office, operated on a day-to-day basis by the Executive Officer.
The position requires a trusted advisor and skilled operator with excellent judgement, political acumen, and the ability to anticipate and respond to complex issues. Acting as an extension of the CEO, the Executive Manager ensures the efficient flow of information, alignment of priorities, and execution of strategic initiatives that advance ARM Hub's mission.
Key responsibilities include:
Strategic & Governance Support
· Provide high-level advice to the Board and CEO on organisational strategy, governance, and external relations.
· Draft, review, and coordinate board papers, minutes, reports, and executive correspondence.
· Maintain governance registers, compliance reporting, and liaise with company secretary as needed.
Office of the CEO
· Anticipate emerging risks and needs, prepare CEO for meetings and engagements, and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
· Confidential sounding board and "air traffic control" for CEO priorities
· Management of the Executive Officer.
· Maintain oversight of key projects and initiatives through a consolidated dashboard of performance and risks.
Stakeholder Engagement & Representation
· Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders in government, industry, academia, and media.
· Represent the CEO and ARM Hub in external forums, ensuring consistency of message and strategic alignment.
Communication & Written Outputs
· Co-ordination and preparation of speeches, presentations, submissions, and funding proposals.
· Ensure all communications reflect ARM Hub's strategic priorities and brand.

Type of appointment
This appointment will be offered on a full-time basis for 12 months, with potential for the role to become an ongoing position.
Location
The headquarters for ARM Hub is 53 Holland St, Northgate, Brisbane. Intrastate and interstate travel will be required from time to time.
Selection criteria
Essential
· Significant experience in a senior advisory or executive support role (e.g. Chief of Staff, Senior Policy/Strategy Manager, or equivalent).
· Proven ability to manage an executive office, balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines.
· Demonstrated experience preparing high-quality strategic documents, board papers, and correspondence.
· Strong political and commercial acumen, with the ability to engage senior government and industry stakeholders.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with capacity to deliver under pressure, and highly proficient in the use of digital and AI tools.
· High initiative, adaptability, and integrity, with a record of sound judgement.
Desirable
· Knowledge of advanced manufacturing, AI, robotics, or clean-energy policy contexts.
· Existing relationships across Queensland and Australian government and industry networks.
· Experience in not-for-profit or government-funded organisations.
