The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an articulate and adaptable individual who will play a key role in delivering timely, accurate, and engaging communications to inform and engage the local community. The role supports strategic communications, public relations, media management, digital content, and community engagement to strengthen public awareness and trust in BVSC's services, projects, and initiatives.

As a Communication Coordinator, you will assist in the development and rollout of communication plans for Council services, programs, capital works, and events whilst using your expertise and fresh ideas to drive continual growth and improvements. You will develop and implement a range of internal communication and engagement methods whilst collaborating with People and Culture, IT, Customer Services and Executive team to deliver consistent, clear, and timely communication to staff.

About You
We are seeking an individual who holds a degree level qualification in Media, Communications, Public relations, Marketing or a relevant field and has extensive working knowledge across communications functions, with proven ability to navigate complex political environments and achieve organisational priorities

You will have the following skills and experience;

* Strong problem-solving and strategic thinking skills related to building and maintaining positive internal and external stakeholder relationships in a Government or community services environment.
* Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence with a proven ability to work collaboratively, influence effectively and coordinate a team of communications professionals.
* Experience in/or demonstrated knowledge of operating web content management systems.
* High level written and verbal communication skills including experience in the use of Microsoft Office products, Adobe design software and other digital communication and media tools.
* Three to five (5) years' relevant experience in a professional communications role.

Benefits
This is a permanent, full time position working 35 hours per week.

The total remuneration package for this position commences at $111,185.98 gross per annum, comprising of:

* $1,909.10 per week base salary
* $229.09 per week superannuation (calculated at 12%)
