Role Overview
The Payroll Officer reports directly to the Payroll Manager and plays an integral role in day-to-day payroll operations. The role includes working closely with the Finance Department, Human Resources, and external software providers.
* Monday to Friday - 38 hrs per weeks
* Contract Period: 01 Dec 2025 to 27 Nov 2026
Responsibilities
* Ensure accurate and efficient payroll processing.
* Process timely and accurate salary/wage payments
* Interpret and apply Enterprise Bargaining Agreements (EBA) and complex employment conditions.
* Ensure compliance with payroll, taxation, and superannuation legislation.
* Maintain accurate leave records and process claims.
* Prepare and manage Parental Leave guidelines and payments.
* Respond to payroll-related queries.
* Ensure timely completion of month-end procedures.
* Maintain strict confidentiality and privacy.
* Follow hospital policies and procedures.
What We're Looking For
* Qualifications in financial administration or payroll functions
* Hands-on experience with payroll systems, especially Preceda
* Experience with staff rostering systems such as RosterOn or Optima
* Experience in payroll processing for medium to large organisation is desirable
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Familiarity with interpreting modern awards and legislation related to payroll
* Previous experience interpreting and processing complex employment agreements (EBAs)
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Ability to work effectively within a team
