We are seeking a dedicated Reliability Engineer to strengthen the performance and reliability of Bis’ mining fleet. In this role, you will be pivotal in optimising maintenance strategies, improving asset performance, and reducing downtime across our operations. Your expertise in reliability engineering will help extend asset life, lower costs, and improve safety, directly contributing to the success of our people and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement reliability-centred maintenance strategies for Bis’ mobile equipment fleet.
- Analyse equipment failures and downtime to identify recurring reliability issues.
- Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA/FMECA) to implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Build and maintain lifecycle asset management plans within Bis’ CMMS (JDE).
- Monitor asset KPIs such as MTBF, MTTR, availability, and cost per hour, and report on performance.
- Work closely with Maintenance Managers, Operations, and OEMs to improve asset reliability and technical standards.
- Support introduction of condition monitoring, predictive maintenance tools, and emerging technologies.
- Prepare reports and recommendations that link reliability improvements to business outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in reliability, maintenance, or asset management (mining, heavy industry, or manufacturing).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated experience in RCA, FMECA, or RCM.
- Proficiency with CMMS (JDE desirable), Microsoft Excel, and data analysis tools (Power BI desirable).
- Ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry best practices in reliability engineering and asset management.
