Leading Hand Light Vehicle Fitter Full Time
Reporting to the Light Vehicle Supervisor, this is a hands‐on Leading Hand role where you'll be on the tools while also running the crew day‐to‐day. You'll take the lead across your shift, executing the plan, allocating work, and making sure the job gets done safely and right the first time. You'll be working on a mixed light vehicle fleet, keeping gear reliable and available for the operations team.
This isn't a desk job. It's about:
* Leading from the front and working alongside your crew
* Keeping the LV fleet maintained, serviced and ready to go
* Planning and prioritising work for the shift and adjusting when things change
* Managing breakdowns and keeping downtime to a minimum
* Making sure work orders, paperwork and handovers are done properly
* Coaching and developing your team to lift standards across the board
* Driving safety, holding the line on standards and calling things out when needed
You'll also work closely with supervisors, planners and other departments to keep everything moving and support continuous improvement across the workshop.
About you
You're a qualified Light Vehicle Fitter who knows your way around light vehicles, particularly the Toyota fleet, and enjoys stepping up to lead a crew.
You take pride in your work, back your decisions, and don't cut corners. You're the kind of person others look to on shift – someone who sets the standard and keeps things running smoothly.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
* Solid experience maintaining LV fleets in a mining or heavy industry environment
* Previous Leading Hand or strong step‐up experience
* The ability to plan work, prioritise jobs and keep your crew on track
* Strong fault‐finding and problem‐solving skills
* Good communication
* A willingness to mentor others and build a strong team
* Hold (or are working towards) Section 26 Statutory Supervisor
* Experience in underground operations or mine site operations
Most importantly, you're reliable, you show up, and you get the job done right — every shift.
This roster is 7:7 and a 12 hour day – Dayshift Only (Thursday to Thursday).
