We are seeking an experienced Gardener to join our friendly and highly valued team at Point Lonsdale. This is a permanent part-time position offering job security, superannuation, paid leave, and genuine flexibility.
About the Role
Reporting to the Village Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our residents enjoy well-maintained, attractive landscaped surrounds that enhance their quality of life. You will also assist with general grounds cleaning and our maintenance manager as required.
Key Responsibilities
Garden Care
* Pruning shrubs and hedges
* Mowing and lawn care
* Weed control and organic spraying
* Planting, mulching and soil improvement
* Removal of green waste
* Small scale landscaping works
Grounds Care
* Assisting with outdoor area upkeep, general presentation and cleanliness of village grounds, for example pressure washing, de-cobwebbing.
Skills, Experience & Attributes
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Minimum 5 years garden maintenance industry experience
* Qualification in horticulture (highly regarded)
* Weed, pest and disease management knowledge
* Plant knowledge
* Good physical fitness
* Experience in a retirement village, residential or similar environment (preferred)
* A friendly manner and strong communication skills
* A current Driver's Licence
Mandatory Requirements
* National Police Check
* First Aid & CPR (support provided to obtain if required)
