Would you love to work for a small, growing, completely community-focused counselling practice in Mount Isa? If you're an organised, flexible and proactive leader who cares about people and practical impact, this role puts you at the heart of our operations so our clinicians can focus on the people who need us.

About Ready to Yarn

Ready to Yarn is a counselling, social work and community development organisation providing services that actually matter to people. We began in early 2023, and our Manager, Jonathan McClelland, has a long history of working in the Gulf region, working alongside remote communities.

We currently deliver NDIS therapy services, Medicare-based counselling and contract services across Mt Isa, Normanton and Doomadgee – with plans to expand. This role is based on-site in Mt Isa.

Mission

We unearth new possibilities through counselling and community development. We seek to discover the seeds of courage hidden within each of us, walking together to uncover paths not yet travelled and hopes not yet spoken. Our mission is to empower individuals and communities by creating safe spaces where healing and transformation can take root.

Values

* RESPECT: We honour your stories and life journey.
* COLLABORATION: Working 'with', not 'doing to'.
* BELONGING: We value connection, community, family.
* CARE: All life deserves respect – what was here before and what comes after.
* HEALING: We believe healing takes courage, and with courage comes transformation.

Vision

To grow into a Community Development organisation tailored to the unique needs of North West Queensland, particularly remote Aboriginal communities and the broader community.

Future growth may include additional staff/sub-contractors and On Country programs and retreats.
