Brisbane
Share the Dignity
Posted: 10 March
Offer description

Are you an advocacy specialist or a marketing, communications and PR professional, looking for a meaningful and rewarding career move? We are looking for an Advocacy Specialist to join our Marketing, Advocacy and Communications Team.

* Hit the ground running in a fast‐paced role driving advocacy plans, coordinating key projects, and helping to ensure our advocacy campaigns are delivered in line with strategic goals.
* Be part of a supportive, close‐knit team on the north side of Brisbane, where no two days are the same.

Share the Dignity is passionate about our work helping women, girls and those who have a period, who are in need and eliminating period poverty in Australia. As a relatively young charity (11 years old), there are still so many ways to grow and improve what we do – and we are looking for people who would relish the challenge of being a part of this phase.

Reporting to the Marketing, Advocacy and Communications Team Leader, this full‐time role will have responsibility for advocacy projects including Council Cares, Pad Up Public Health and Building Bloody Change initiatives.

Responsibilities
* Develop, implement, and monitor advocacy campaigns and strategic plans to achieve systemic changes in line with our mission.
* Conduct research to draft briefing papers, reports, and submissions, including Share the Dignity's Bloody Big Survey and broader research programs to drive improved health outcomes for women through menstrual equity.
* Oversee and contribute to the development of compelling written and digital advocacy campaign communications across all digital/media platforms.
* Build relationships and engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders (virtually and in person), including Government officials, Ministers, individuals with lived experience, children and young people, ambassadors, advocacy groups, community groups, media, staff, volunteers and other key partners, across digital and traditional marketing platforms to promote organisational goals and drive advocacy results.
* Oversee media relations including proactive and reactive media management, training and on‐call arrangements for advocacy campaigns and events.
* Participate as required in podcasts, photo and video shoots, digital content, and other marketing and communications activities relating to advocacy.

You will be someone who enjoys the challenge of working in various mediums, thrives in adapting your communication style to suit distinct audiences, and takes ownership of delivering high‐quality outcomes. You will be someone who flourishes in a small but progressive, collaborative, and creative team with the passion to make a difference for the lives of women, girls and those who menstruate.

This role has been identified as interacting with children and young people so the successful applicant will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check prior to commencing in the role.

Qualifications & Experience
* A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations, along with strong hands‐on experience in a similar role. We're looking for someone who can hit the ground running with proven skills in advocacy strategy, stakeholder engagement, media relations, and campaign delivery.
* Demonstrated success in contributing to innovative advocacy, marketing, communications, digital, and multimedia campaigns to grow advocacy awareness and community engagement.
* Experience and cultural competency in working with organisations supporting disadvantaged women, communities, and/or social impact, or a related sector.
* Demonstrated experience in end‐to‐end campaign/project management including the ability to analyse problems and deliver solutions for advocacy campaigns.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the demonstrated ability to liaise with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, and present information clearly in person and in writing.

Your exceptional organisational and planning skills, strong communication skills, eye for accuracy, and commitment to advocacy outcomes, are keys to your ongoing success.
