Child and Adolescent Mental Health Specialist

As a specialist in child and adolescent mental health, you will play a crucial role in providing psychiatric assessment, treatment, and management for children and adolescents (0-18 years) and their families.

You will be focused on addressing a range of presentations including insecure attachment issues, anxiety, neurodivergent complexities, and increased risk issues such as suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury, and substance use. You will also tackle school-related difficulties and contribute to the overall well-being of our diverse patient population.

You will collaborate with regional managers, directors of clinical services, and team leaders to offer consultation and clinical advice to multidisciplinary teams.

Regular travel between main office sites is required to ensure consistent face-to-face visits, as well as conducting outreach services in remote locations. You will also work closely with Aboriginal communities, expanding cultural awareness and contributing to cultural safety practices.

Experience a great work-life balance with a standard business hour roster, Monday to Friday, without on-call responsibilities. You will have the opportunity to participate in innovative projects within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services space, implementing ICAMHS Taskforce recommendations and Models of Care.

Experience comprehensive support within our well-structured team, including administrative staff, triage officers, clinical psychologists, senior mental health professionals, and Infant Mental Health Promotions Officers.
