Job Description:Royal Canin - Scientific Services Veterinarian – QLDHere at Royal Canin, we have an exciting opportunity for a Scientific Services Veterinarian (SSV) to join our team.
Based in Brisbane or the Gold Coast, this role reports to the Melbourne-based, Health & Scientific Affairs Manager.The Health and Scientific Affairs Team comprises four veterinarians and one veterinary technologist across ANZ.
Each SSV liaises with key internal and external stakeholders on various projects, campaigns, and events, and leads and is responsible for specific projects.The role of the SSV is to lead initiatives with a strong scientific focus and support other initiatives where veterinary consultancy is beneficial.
The SSV is regarded as a wealth of knowledge on pet health and nutrition within the organization.Externally, the SSV will deliver accurate and consistent scientific messaging at seminars, events, and conferences to stakeholders such as customers, veterinarians, breeders, and university students.
The role involves approximately 25% travel, primarily within South East Queensland, with occasional interstate travel.What are we looking for?
Degree in Veterinary Science and current registration with the Veterinary Practitioners Board of QLD.Minimum 5+ years of clinical experience with strong networks of veterinary specialists and professionals in Queensland.A people person who enjoys educating, helping others learn, and building relationships.A confident presenter and speaker across various audiences.A commercially minded planner capable of prioritizing workload and comfortable with ambiguity.A motivated individual with initiative, able to work autonomously and collaboratively.Proficient computer skills, ideally with experience in Microsoft Teams.A valid QLD driver's license.Membership with ANZCVS is highly regarded.Key responsibilities include:Participating in cross-functional teams and reviewing scientific content of marketing, education, and training materials.Supporting the Consumer Care team with advice on complex nutrition cases.Creating and delivering product and nutrition training for new staff, advisors, sales reps, and university ambassadors.Delivering nutrition training and developing digital education resources for veterinary and retail accounts and universities across Queensland and occasionally other states.Engaging with media, including writing and participating in social media initiatives, to educate on pet nutrition.Building professional relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOL) and university hospitals aligned with strategic goals.Serving as the technical expert for the QLD & NSW sales team and training territory managers on the Royal Canin portfolio, including new products.What can you expect from Royal Canin?
