About The Role

As an Aged Care Home & Community Assistant you will be passionate about providing one on one support to older Australians living in Townsville and surrounding suburbs. You will support our clients to continue living independently in their own homes by providing domestic assistance, personal care and other social supports. This is a great opportunity for someone who is new to or wanting to get started in the industry and passionate about making a positive impact in the ageing community.

You will be providing support to individuals that have a range of health conditions including Dementia, Mental Health conditions, organ disease and individuals needing assistance with mobility.

You will support multiple clients each day, so a willingness to travel is essential. You will travel up to a 60km radius, with your KM’s reimbursed while you are working. We have Permanent Part Time and Casual opportunities available, and most hours worked will be between 7am to 7pm, no sleepover shifts required.

Key Responsibilities

* Domestic assistance such as meal preparation and light house cleaning
* Personal Care including grooming and showering
* Community access to medical appointments and social activities
* Supporting with tasks and routines
* Build positive relationships with clients

Skills & Experience

* An Australian Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle with minimum third-party insurance
* Strong communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships
* A current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)

Successful candidates will be required to undertake relevant pre-employment checks to ensure the safety of our clients. This includes a National Criminal History Record Check and complete an Aged Care Statutory Declaration.

* Work independently whilst supported by a dedicated leadership team
* Simple and easy to use technology to record your timesheets and kilometres
* Frameworks and policies in place providing you with clear guidelines and support
* Part Time hourly rate starting from $31.64 + Super +.99 cents per kilometre travelled while you work
* Casual hourly rate staring from $39.55 + Super +.99 cents per kilometre travelled while you work
* Receive up to $15,900 of your annual salary tax free through salary packaging benefits which means more money in your pocket
* Be paid for two full days to complete your induction
