Our State Government client is seeking to engage an Events & Engagement Officer on a contract for 24 months.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist with the development, implementation and evaluation of innovative events and engagement strategies to ensure the community and key stakeholders have opportunities to inform the development of the Department's policies, plans and programs.
- Coordinate and support community and stakeholder events, such as forums, workshops, briefings and roundtable discussions.
- Support the development and implementation of a range of engagement tools and techniques, such as community forums, focus group research, online and telephone surveys, community outreach activities and online engagement tools.
- Support the Manager to monitor and report on key community and stakeholder interests and issues, and provide recommendations to senior executives on how to best manage risks.
- Liaise and collaborate with a range of external providers, including design, advertising, catering and other events suppliers, to deliver high-quality outcomes that meet the needs of a range of audiences.
- Draft and edit written material within tight timeframes for use by the cluster ministers and Secretary, and provide support for Departmental officers in their drafting of written material.
- Participate in business systems, policies and business process improvement initiatives to improve team operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Capabilities:
- Maintain an up to date knowledge of issues affecting women in Regional and Rural NSW, the Department's strategic direction, the workings of government and engagement and communication methodologies and practice
- Develop events strategy recommendations to incorporate the perspectives and often conflicting views and interests of multiple stakeholders and take into account broader agency context and policy issues, and whole of Government objectives and priorities
- Respond to emerging urgent matters and deal with complex and contentious issues, competing projects and tight deadlines in a politically sensitive and high pressure environment
