Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Tax Accountant. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, reviewing financial statements, and executing accounting procedures. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing financial data, providing consultation on tax strategies, and offering insights to optimize financial planning for clients or businesses. Collaboration with clients and the team to address financial and tax-related needs is a key aspect of this role.
Qualifications
* Prepare and review financial statements, tax returns, BAS/IAS and FBT returns for a range of entities (individuals, companies, trusts, partnerships and self managed superannuation funds)
* Work closely with the Manager and Partner on complex matters and projects
* Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a diverse range of industries
* Liaison with the ATO and other stakeholders
* Proficiency in Tax Compliance, Tax Preparation, and understanding of tax laws
* Experience in preparing and analyzing Financial Statements
* Strong knowledge of Accounting principles and practices
* Attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy in all tax-related matters
Requirements:
Ideally 5+ years' experience in business services / SME tax
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
* CPA or CA qualification (or working towards it) is desirable
* Proven experience in tax accounting
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
* Experience withXero Practice Manager(highly desirable)
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
* Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite
* Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Can travel to different ABS TAX office locations to perform work.
