As a Cook in aged care, you're not just preparing food – you're creating meals that feel like home and bring daily joy to the lives of our residents.
What Youant Do
What You'll Do
You'll be responsible for cooking meals for our residents, taking into account their individual dietary requirements and preferences. From hearty lunches to light dinners and everything in between, you'll be preparing nutritious, tasty meals that meet both nutritional and emotional needs.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook meals, ensuring they cater to individual dietary needs and aged care nutrition standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment, in line with food safety regulations.
Assist with stock rotation, ordering, and record-keeping (e.g., meal counts, temperature logs).
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team and communicate respectfully with residents.
About You
You're a team-oriented cook who takes pride in creating food that brings comfort and care. You enjoy working in a supportive environment and can manage a busy kitchen calmly and confidently.
What You'll Bring
Previous experience cooking for large groups (e.g., aged care, hospitality, school, hospital).
Cert III in Commercial Cookery is an advantage, but not essential.
Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
Ability to work as part of a team and build respectful relationships with co-workers.
Confidence in communicating with elderly people in a caring and professional way.
Good time management and an eye for detail in meal presentation and kitchen cleanliness.
Other Requirements
A current National Police Check.
