Board Director Roles in NSW/ACT Sport – Legal Background
Location: Remote with NSW/ACT in-person commitments
Commitment: Voluntary | Approx. 6–10 hours per month
About the Organisation
Help shape the future of motorcycle sport across NSW and the ACT. Representing more than 100 clubs and 45,000 participants annually, this peak state sporting body is financially strong, nationally connected, and central to community sport and recreation.
The Opportunity
As part of a planned renewal, two Non-Executive Director roles are now available:
* Chair-Track Role – a barrister or senior lawyer with the presence and governance capability to succeed as Chair by 2026.
* Board Contributor Role – legal, commercial, or sports governance specialist with depth in contracts, finance, risk, insurance or stakeholder engagement.
These are governance positions focused on strategy, oversight, and stakeholder engagement, not operations.
Who We’re Looking For
Candidates with strong experience in one or more of the following (legal background strongly preferred):
* Law and governance (preferred: barristers, senior lawyers, governance specialists)
* Finance, audit, or risk management (insurance expertise highly valued)
* Sport administration, sponsorship, or stakeholder engagement
* Digital, cyber, or technology governance

* Boardroom presence with collaborative style
* Agility in decision-making and commitment to diversity and inclusion
* Availability for remote meetings plus 2–3 in-person events annually
