The Department of Justice and Community Safety (the department) is seeking an Information Technology Coordinator, to provide a critical role within Hopkins Correctional Centre.
About the Business Unit
Hopkins Correctional Centre is a medium security prison located in Western Victoria housing up to 798 people. The prison takes a multi-disciplinary approach that promotes active participation in activities structured to assist with rehabilitation and reintegration back to community at end of sentence.
About the Role
The role of the Information and Technology (IT) Coordinator, under the supervision of the Planning and Performance Manager, is to develop and implement IT systems in support of daily operations in order to improve cost effectiveness, service quality and departmental development.
The IT Coordinator will ensure delivery of IT support is in accordance with the Corrections Victoria IT Support Policy and Technology Services Policies. The IT Coordinator will maintain stable operation of the in-house computer network, and data communications systems. They will assist in the planning and use of IT assets and will plan and install common IT infrastructure assets for Hopkins Correctional Centre.
Some of your duties will include:
* Coordinate and support IT services at Hopkins Correctional Centre ensuring compliance with all legislative and corporate governance requirements.
* Assist staff with computer software and hardware issues and equipment maintenance in consultation with DOJ Help Desk.
* Coordinate employee access to computer programs and folders.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A minimum of 2-3 years' experience in Computer Information and Technology Field
* Demonstrated advanced skills in MS Office programs including program design and modification.
* Be capable of working across multiple projects at a time with a high multi-tasking capability
Qualifications / Requirements
* A relevant tertiary qualification is desirable.
