The Opportunity

Our client is seeking an APS6 Senior Information Services Officer (Clinical) to join the Clinical Information Management section, reporting to the Assistant Director, Clinical Incident Reviews. This role plays a critical part in supporting clinical governance, quality improvement and safe, accountable mental health service delivery.

The position can be based in any of the following locations: Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Adelaide, Melbourne, Darwin or Perth.

About the Role

Monitoring, analysing and preparing Clinical Incident Reviews, ensuring high quality reporting within required timeframes. The role also supports broader information management functions, including information releases, data management, and continuous quality improvement activities. You will work closely with internal teams, external stakeholders, and service providers, applying sound judgement, critical thinking, and a strong clinical lens to sensitive and complex matters.

Key Responsibilities

* Prepare high quality Clinical Incident Reviews, reports and responses in line with legislation, policy, and procedures.
* Analyse clinical information to identify contributing factors to client distress, applying a no blame, safety-focused approach.
* Work across multiple systems to review, collate and manage sensitive clinical information with high attention to detail.
* Operate with autonomy and accountability in managing complex work under limited direction.
* Contribute to clinical governance, policy development and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
* Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, emotional intelligence and a positive team culture.
* Manage risk in mental health settings, including identifying and mitigating risks associated with sensitive clinical information.
* Build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships to support organisational objectives.

Desirable Experience

* Experience working within the Australian Public Service, particularly in governance or clinical oversight roles.

Mandatory Requirements

* AHPRA-registered Psychologist, Mental Health Occupational Therapist, or Mental Health Registered Nurse (full registration), or
* Qualified Social Worker eligible for AASW membership and Mental Health accreditation, or
* Counsellor or Nurse with a minimum of three years' mental health experience, or
* A minimum of five years' experience working in mental health settings.
* Must be an Australian Citizen

On Offer:

* 12 months + extension
* Hybrid model
* Competitive Hourly Rate
* Full time hours, 37.5 hours each week
