Primary objective

The Senior Systems Analyst is a member of and leads a specialised team which is responsible for reviewing and analysing services,

processes and technology in order to deliver high-quality technical solutions, as well as providing expert advice and operational support

to ensure a range of critical business systems and associated system components operate smoothly and without interruption to support

the needs of the business.

Key duties and responsibilities

1. Provide high-quality technical advice, expertise and support in relation to critical agency applications and business systems.

1. Lead the assessment, analysis, design, development, testing, documentation and implementation of solutions to problems and requests

for change in accordance with Departmental approved policies and processes.

1. Determine and document business requirements and processes by working with key stakeholders to deliver improvements in

information systems, information management, practices and procedures

1. Plan and drive scoping, requirement definitions and prioritisation activities for large, complex initiatives, and contribute to the definition

of policies, standards and guidelines for business system improvements.

5. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

6. Participate in after-hours and on-call rosters as required, while following defined service quality standards, work health and safety

policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.

Selection criteria

Essential

1. Demonstrated experience in managing, configuring, and supporting critical systems in a complex integrated environment.

2. Demonstrated experience in planning, analysing, designing and executing complex initiatives to time, cost and quality targets.

3. Demonstrated experience supervising individuals, providing direction and working collaboratively with team members to deliver a

high-level of service to Health stakeholders.

4. Demonstrated experience in incident, problem, change, test, and release management processes and related activities.

5. Demonstrated experience in creating and maintaining high-quality technical, support and business documentation.

6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practise,

accountability, impartiality, diversity and respect.

Desirable

1. Relevant Tertiary, Project Management, IT and ITIL qualifications or certifications.

2. Relevant knowledge and experience in the disciplines of health, child protection, youth justice or housing services.

3. Competency at the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) level 5.
