Overview
Landloch Pty Ltd is seeking an Environmental Technician with a focus on soils and land management. The position is based at Landloch's office in Perth (WA) and is a permanent, full-time role. The role combines laboratory-based activities (soil and erosion testing, equipment maintenance), field-based activities (soil sampling, field data collection), and office-based activities (data review, reporting, and erosion modelling). The position offers an opportunity to work with experienced teams on projects in Australia and internationally, with exposure to innovative technologies including AI-driven environmental solutions and advanced GIS modelling.

Responsibilities
* Deployment to the field (e.g. mine sites or rangelands) to collect data and observations.
* Setting up, parameterising and running erosion modelling using the 2D WEPP model and the 3D SIBERIA landform evolution modelling; interpreting modelling outputs and presenting detailed visual outputs of erosion rates and material movement; calculating erosion statistics from modelling results.
* Using GIS and CAD software to manipulate data; conducting data reviews and gap analyses; utilising artificial intelligence to enhance Landloch's offerings.
* Entering and processing laboratory and field data; installing and maintaining field monitoring equipment; working as a team member to maintain Landloch's high quality standards.
Qualifications and experience
* Excellent communication skills, with strong written and verbal abilities; data entry skills (MS Excel, Word).
* Experience in setting up, parameterising and running erosion models; experience with GIS software packages and data manipulation; understanding and experience in using AI; coding experience.
* A commitment to safety and ethical conduct, following company policies; good attention to detail and a commitment to quality and precision.
* A self-motivated approach to work; ability to deploy into the field as required, with field campaigns sometimes up to two weeks; practical problem-solving abilities.
* Desirable: field experience; experience with soil sampling and testing; experience with environmental monitoring equipment; GIS skills; a tertiary degree.
