About the Role
As the Section Manager within the Fire Engineering Global Specialist Group, you'll play a key role in leading our Fire Engineering team in Victoria as well contributing to the National and Global fire engineering group. You will cultivate client relationship and oversee the team in delivering projects and resource allocation throughout project delivery. Collaboration across NDY's global network of fire engineers and other Tetra Tech businesses will be central to your success.
You will lead the fire engineering team in Melbourne, in creating a collaborative and high-performance environment, delivering high-quality fire safety solutions, and staff.
* Provide leadership and mentorship to the fire engineering team in Melbourne
* Oversee the design and delivery of innovative fire safety engineering solutions across diverse projects
* Collaborate with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated fire safety strategies
* Ensure all work complies with local, state, and national codes, standards, and best practices
* Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful outcomes
* Conduct technical reviews and offer expert guidance on complex fire engineering challenges
* Promote a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team
* Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded
* Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and documentation for stakeholders
About You
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or a related discipline
* Postgraduate Diploma or Masters in Fire Engineering
* Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)
* Demonstrated experience in fire engineering design and project management, ideally within a consultancy environment
* In-depth knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail
