An excellent opportunity exists for a suitably qualified individual to join the Wagga Wagga Engineering Department in the full-time role of Structural/Sheet Metal Engineer.
The Structural/Sheet Metal Engineer will report directly to the Base Maintenance Supervisor.
Position responsibilities:
1. Carry out Aircraft sheet metal repairs IAW SAAB repair statements and SAAB SRM.
2. Carry out composite repairs IAW SAAB SRM and SAAB repair statements.
3. Assist in corrosion/damage removal & assessment.
4. Assist in development of improved structural repair processes & ICAs.
5. Maintain the company sheet metal tooling associated with the sheet metal workshop.
6. Assist in training of structural repair work & sheet metal practices.
7. Adhere to Regional Express' safety regulations.
8. Provide sheet metal support at other bases & in AOG events.
9. Complete a MEA41322 or MEA41318 Certificate IV in Aeroskills – Structures.
10. Have a minimum of 5 years experience in aircraft structural repairs.
11. Possess well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
12. Exhibit a highly motivated and enthusiastic attitude.
13. Demonstrate sound work ethics.
14. Meet the requirements to hold an Aviation Security Identity Card.
Preferred Selection Criteria:
1. Heavy maintenance experience.
2. NDI experience or approvals.
3. CASA B1 & A1 licence.
