Job description:

At the NSW Department of Education, we educate and inspire lifelong learners - from early childhood, through schooling to vocational education and training.

* Temporary Full-Time employment until 01/03/2027
* Based in Wollongong with flexible work arrangements, requiring 50% office attendance
* Willingness and ability to travel to regional NSW
* Salary ranges from $99,938 to $110,271 pa. plus superannuation and annual leave loading

About the role

The Post Placement Support Officer will provide pre and post placement support to Government Agencies and State-Owned Corporations who are seeking assistance in the recruitment and management of apprentices and trainees, including training contract sign up support, selection of the training organisations, mentoring through pastoral care and monitoring the progress of the apprenticeship or traineeship.

* Mentor apprentices and trainees through guidance, support and pastoral care.
* Support sign-up processes and work closely with agencies, supervisors and key stakeholders.
* Promote apprenticeships and traineeships across NSW Government Agencies and State-Owned Corporations through high-quality program support.

About you

* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

Essential requirements of the role

* A Working with Children Check is an essential requirement for this role.
* Current driver's licence and a willingness to travel
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
